At CIF Construction, we are hiring a Carpenter in Prince George, BC to work at industrial construction sites across Western Canada.

This provides a fantastic opportunity for team members to expand their skills and grow professionally. As a Carpenter, you would play a crucial role in supporting all phases of construction.
Responsibilities for this role include building structural formwork, placing and finishing concrete, and maintaining and repairing existing structures. Carpenters should also be capable of reading blueprints and specifications, organizing schedules for material and equipment use, and providing support for project layout and fabrication.
We’re looking for someone with a Red Seal Certification, Journeyperson Certification, or current Apprentice Registration. No work experience is strictly required, but it would be an asset. This role includes operating at heights, in confined spaces, in all weather conditions, and with safety in mind, so we’re looking for candidates with valid Fall Protection, Confined Space, and WHMIS certifications.
Having a valid Telehandler, Elevated Work Platform, or Skid Steer certification is an asset. We would also consider a valid Class 5 driver’s license or First Aid certificate to be assets.
Carpenters are paid $33.14–$50.99 per hour plus overtime pay. This position operates at active construction sites in rural areas throughout Western Canada on a rotational 14-days-on and 14-days-off schedule with 10–12-hour shifts. This work requires travel to isolated job sites and the ability to live in camp accommodations for extended periods. Duties are performed outdoors in demanding environments with conditions that include rain, snow, extreme heat, and sub-zero temperatures. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-driven, physically resilient, and ready to work wherever the job takes us.

Duties
- Reading blueprints and specifications to lay out work that includes calculating quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations.
- Building structural formwork for concrete foundations, footings, retaining walls, columns, beams, suspended slabs, and shafts.
- Placing and finishing concrete.
- Supporting project layout.
- Organizing schedules for use of materials and equipment to meet project deadlines.
- Safely operating various hand and shop tools.
- Maintaining and repairing existing structures.
- Working at heights.
- Supporting fabrication during projects.
- Working and operating in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Carpenter, Red Seal Certification, or current Carpenter Apprentice Registration.
- Demonstrated commitment to working safely.
- Valid Fall Protection, Confined Space, and WHMIS certification.
- Valid Telehandler, Elevated Work Platform, and Skid Steer certifications are assets.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is an asset.
- Experience with concrete, industrial projects, and isolated camp job sites is an asset.
- Experience with Logik formwork is an asset.
- Framing experience is an asset.
- Valid First Aid certificate is an asset.

Education
