At the start of the expansion, CIF worked day and night for three months to complete construction of the in-pit crusher foundations.
This crusher was integral to the doubling of Gibraltar Mines production capacity. Our accelerated timeline allowed our client to quickly capitalize on the forward moving price curve of copper. In the fall of 2010, CIF commenced construction of a new underground tunnel as part of Gibraltar’s plan to install an improved SAG mill direct feed system. The tunnel provided an upgraded and direct link between the secondary crusher ore stockpile and the #1 Concentrator process building.
